At the Sex Doll Factory

Juxtapoz is an awesome art site to begin with, but I love this one especially


  1. Wow, just wow. I always had a mental image of those things being inflatable, maybe because a guy had one like that in his dorm room back in college. Something that lifelike that isn't actually alive seems creepy somehow, but I'm not a guy, so...

  2. There's actually a theory about that, originally proposed in Japan, called the "uncanny valley": to wit, human reaction to things that look human (toys, animals, cartoon characters, etc) is increasingly positive the closer the thing looks to human until you reach a point where it doesn't look so much like a human-looking thing as a wrong-looking human, at which point it inspires disgust and even fear until the point where it can pass for human convincingly (or, you know, is actually human).
